Welcome Kelly Oram, author of V is for Virgin! She’s subjected herself to my crazy teenage years interview, which, as you know, are years many of us want to forget and some of us want to relive. Let’s see what Kelly’s like was like … way back when.
Nothing’s better than being on the _________ team
Honestly I never did make up my mind. In high school I was on the volleyball team, the student council, I wrote for the school paper, I sang in both the concert choir and the chambers singers. Once I even tried show choir, and I landed a roll in the school play. Oh, and I also joined an after school tap dance class. That was a disaster!

We will, we will ROCK you! Go rocks! Oh, yeah, I’m completely serious. We were the Plymouth-Salem ROCKS. So lame. We actually had a huge boulder out front of the school that I guess was supposed to be the mascot. Canton High (our rivals) would come over and paint the dumb thing red (Their colors. Ours were blue and white.) whenever we lost to them in any sporting event.
My other car was a ________________
I rocked a minivan in high school and I loved it. It fit all my friends, so it was pretty much the party mobile. I took it to college with me where it’s nickname was changed to the “pimpmobile” thanks to a mysterious bumper sticker showing up one day. Now that I’m a mother of four, guess what I drive? ; )
There was a hot teacher … her/his name was …
I wished I’d had a hot teacher! Even just once. I was never that lucky. But I did have a class once where I sat next to this gorgeous senior named Phil. Soooooo hot!!! I didn’t learn a thing that entire year. It’s a miracle I passed.
Nerd? Geek? Jock? Snob?
I was a floater. I didn’t have a specific clique. I was a little eccentric and everyone probably thought I was a little bit crazy (but in a fun way). I was friends with everyone and bounced from group to group as my mood desired.

Honestly? I thought high school was the worst part of school. If I had it all to do over again knowing what I know now, I’d probably forget regular high school and enroll in a school for performing arts. (I would have done musical theater.)
